Multimedia lectures and presentations are streamed by the company’s Helix Server, and intellectual content is converted into high quality audio, graphics and, optionally, video using Streaming Multimedia Internet Language (SMIL). Students enjoy the easy user interface and full functionality of the free RealPlayer to access dynamic lectures and presentations anytime and anywhere they have an Internet connection. During multimedia presentations, participants are presented with questions and a series of choices that, once selected, will determine the direction of the multimedia lecture. This compels the user to become an active participant and to make decisions based on the information presented, thus enhancing the learning experience.
