Underground
Storage Tanks: Issues and Solutions
There are an estimated 500,000
Underground Storage Tanks (UST's) in the province of B.C. Old or
improperly maintained tanks frequently leak, causing environmental
damage and subsequent liability losses. Current legal conditions
call for all future residential and commercial building / land sales
to have a UST inspection and certification completed. As many
brokers and their clients have recently discovered, failure to do so
can lead to refusal of coverage by insurers. In this pre-recorded
web broadcast seminar, learn from an expert in the oil tank industry
how UST's should be inspected and/or safely and legally
decommissioned to the satisfaction of government regulations and all
parties. This will help guide you in your dealings with underwriters
and your clients when UST's become an issue. The various topics
discussed include: government legislation, oil tank location
services, types of fuel, tank life-spans, decommissioning quotes,
types of decommissioning, municipal permits and inspections,
engineering services, and the effects on the insurance industry. Who
Should Attend: All brokers at all levels.
