Exam for the designation
Certified Health Executive (CHE)
Please read the following carefully before you proceed to write the exam.
- This exam has been designed to measure five competencies required of
Health Service Executives in Canada. These competencies include:
- Consumer/Community Responsiveness and Public Relations
- Political and Health Environment Awareness
- Results Management
- Resource Management
- Compliance to Standards
- The exam includes two parts.

The 50 multiple choice questions are to be answered in two forms, each
with 25 questions. The link to the second half of the multiple choice
questions will only be available after the first half are answered and
submitted. In Part B, candidates will be given 13 questions to choose
from, and candidates must answer 10 questions. If all questions are
answered only the first 10 will be marked.
- You have a total of three hours to write the entire exam
and should therefore plan your time accordingly to ensure you have enough
time to answer each part of the exam. It is suggested that you pass over
any difficult questions and return to them later if you have time (on the
same form only.)
- To pass the exam, you must obtain an overall score of 60%, regardless
of your score in each part.
- The exam score will be the total of correct answers. You do not lose
marks for wrong answers.
- The candidate and the proctor must be present at the same time to start
the exam.
- The candidate must enter his/her candidate number without the dash (i.e
only the numeric part of your candidate number)
- The proctor must have received the proctor code from CCHSE before the
exam and enter that number.
- The exam results will be available to the candidate within 3 weeks after
writing the exam. If you have any concerns about your results, please contact:
