Antidepressant Treatment Update: Integration of Psychopharmacology and CBT

Presenters' Biographies:  

James M. Meredith, PhD, ABPP

Dr. Meredith is a clinical psychologist in private practice in San Antonio, Texas. He served as a psychologist in the Air Force from1986 until his retirement in 2004.  While on active duty he was chosen as the first Air Force psychologist to attend the postdoctoral DoD Psychopharmacology Demonstration Project at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences at Bethesda, MD.  After graduation he functioned as the first Air Force prescribing psychologist.  He has been actively involved in promoting prescriptive authority for psychologists by presenting workshops at state and national conferences and teaching graduate and postgraduate courses in psychopharmacology with PPR, Argosy University, the New Mexico psychopharmacology training program, and now with the Texas psychopharmacology training program.

Dr. Meredith was born in Stuttgart, Germany and was raised at various military postings as part of a career Army family.

John F. Drozd, PhD 

Dr. Drozd is a clinical psychologist and the Vice President for   Clinical Affairs, Lexicor Medical Technology, Inc, a company contributing to the fields of Neuropsychiatry and Behavioral Medicine.  In addition, Dr. Drozd serves as the Clinical Director of The NeuroAssessment Centre, an integrated Psychology / Psychiatry practice located in Colorado Springs, CO.  After receiving his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, Dr. Drozd served as a psychologist in the Air Force from 1997 to 2002.  A committed scientist-practitioner, Dr. Drozd is involved in the development and delivery of evidence-based assessments and interventions for children, adolescents, and adults.  He has authored and co-authored publications in the areas of psychotherapy research, clinical outcomes management, and the collaborative assessment and management of suicidality.  Dr. Drozd is currently completing his post-doctoral training in psychopharmacology through the Southwestern Institute for the Advancement of Psychotherapy/New Mexico State University’s Professional Development Program.       

Dr. Drozd was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware and now lives in Colorado Springs, Colorado with his wife Sheila and their two children, Abigail and Jack.
